Life is Simply…Complex.

Life is simply… complex. And it is complex because we make it complex, because in reality, everything is easy, at least our everyday “non-academic” lives. Our mind plays tricks on us, and we are the easiest persons to trick. The trouble originates in that what we want is in eternal conflict with what we have and/or can get. What makes us selfishly believe that we deserve the world? What makes us so special that we ignore the people in front of us because we believe we deserve better? We should be happy with what we have around us; happy with the tools God gave us, with which we can build great things. If humans can build pyramids and cities, imagine what certain people can build in our hearts, in our minds? The intangible can be more beautiful than the tangible. Human beings have the divine right to create or to destroy. Are you a creator or a destroyer? It takes more guts and ingenuity to create. Destroying a building, a relationship, a car, is too easy. In this planet, most people fall in love with materialistic things, we want that Ferrari, we want to be extremely wealthy, we want the perfect guy or girl. We want, we want, we want. Humankind can be very foolish and spoiled. Where is it written that we deserve the best this world has to offer? We think we deserve the best, but fail to see that we already have much more than billions of people out there in the real world. People should stop and think THAT, to think beyond. People should open their eyes and see the world from a different perspective, to venture away from what they know in order to discover new things about themselves and the world. We all are special, because we all are alive and most of us are healthy (albeit some more than others). That should be more than enough reason to be happy, the rest should be cake. Problems arise because people are not open-minded to certain things. Conservatives and liberals cannot see eye to eye, a woman trashes a guy because she didn’t “feel butterflies in the gut” like in Hollywood movies, people at work make it impossible on you for no reason other than to spite you, and so on and so forth. Problems do not “just” exist, we create them and we use them against ourselves and others and vice-versa. We set ourselves, at times, on a path of self-destruction or on a path to hurt others, and the scary thing is that we do not even want to. Subconsciously, we all want to be better than the next person, and that is what being human is about, to excel and prove that you can do it, to feed the ego, to be recognized as badass. Of the latter, even I have been guilty of. Lately, I frankly do not give a damn what people think of me. The richest person is not the one who has the most but rather, the richest person is that who needs the least. I don’t need too much, I am alive, I am healthy, and I have my heart and it beats 1-2-3, and this makes me happy all day and all month. Life is beautiful; please do not make it a complicated ugly thing. It is my hope that in someway I can be a positive person in your life; that you can take something useful from the fact that you know me somehow. It is better to be melancholic than an alcoholic, and please do not confuse gymnasium with magnesium. I wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day!
